Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays From The Racer!

We have a little holiday gift for fans of The Racer! This is a song that we wrote, if not specifically as a "Christmas Song," then at least with the holiday season in mind. It's not a traditional carol or our spin on an old classic, but just our interpretation of the different shades of both joy and melancholy that accompany the holiday season every year:

The song is about my experience with my son in the hospital. Thankfully it was nothing too serious, but still a tough time for our family. I left the hospital feeling appreciative of a lot of things, but especially after seeing all these kids who are seriously sick and probably wouldn’t be going home anytime soon, probably would be there through the holidays. The lyrics are about how as a parent you want to do the best you can for your child and if you can’t be home for Christmas, then you are going to bring Christmas to the hospital.

The song is named after one of the nurses who took care of my son and used her sense of humor to keep him smiling and laughing every time he saw her. I can’t tell you how lucky we felt to have her there. I know she is making someone else’s child smile right now.

We sincerely wish each and every one of you a happy and healthy holiday season - while encouraging you to think about and/or donate to those that are less fortunate or perhaps struggling to make this time of year everything it should be.

Wishing peace upon you all!
